Foundation: In 1987 a small group of individuals suffering from the condition created the Greek Coeliac Society, driven by the initiative of the active doctor Eleftherias Roma.
Goals: The purpose of the society is to provide useful information on issues related to gluten free diet, the insurance benefits of the sufferers as well as to advise them on any other issues related to their condition in order to prevent any difficulties in their everyday life resulting from gluten free diet.
Activity: The society provides its members with lists of products found in the market which have been tested for their gluten content and with gluten free recipes. Another important activity of our society is its annual symposium. During the symposium the members of the society are informed about the latest medical developments related to celiac disease, are given the opportunity to ask any questions and enjoy a rich gluten free meal.
